Our latest artist collaboration translates Gringo Voodoo by Ray Smith into a highly detailed tapestry woven in the gobelin technique. Our C.E.O., Jaime Odabachian, discusses Ray’s experience growing up between the U.S. and Mexico and the collaborative process with the artist.
The luxury rug maker, Odabashian has produced a one-off piece based on Jose Dávila’s 2007 artwork “Twenty-five Great Circles” for the Mexico City gallery OMR. The commission measures 360 x 400 cm and is made from 100% New Zealand wool woven using the Tibetan knot technique.
Continuing the legend of The Moundverse exhibited in March 2019 at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, when Trenton’s solo show ‘Mind Of The Mound: Critical Mass’ opened, Locust projects will feature this fall, Hancock’s first large scale solo exhibition: I Made a Mound City in Miami Dade County. From November 17, 2019 – February 8, 2020 The Mound #1 The Legend is exhibited as part of the show.
